Richard has an extensive history of professional and sales experience that has culminated into real estate success. Richard graduated from Western Michigan University in 1980 with a Bachelors in Accounting. He then went on to obtain CPA licenses in both Michigan and Florida. It is noteworthy that Richard passed the CPA exams in his first attempt, not something for the weak of mind. After working 5 years for various accounting firms, Richard found that he desired more contact with people. In 1984, Richard started working in encyclopedia sales for Encyclopedia Brittanica. In his first year, in this challenging market, he was named the #1 rookie salesperson in North America. With the advent of the internet, Richard left Brittanica in 1992. For the next 10 years Richard worked in various jobs, from accounting to delivery, in search of a new direction. In 2002, Richard decided to team up with Greg Miller and form the Roy Miller team. He has put his extensive experience in the sales and business worlds to work in real estate.

Licensed Realtor. Member of the Greater Kalamazoo Association of Realtors. Owns and manages rental property.
Hobbies
Richard is an outdoorsman. He loves taking walks with his son (Alex) and his dog (Selah). You may see him walking at Western's preserve, or sledding down the hill during the winter. Richard also enjoys basketball, racquet sports, and occasionally tackles a golf course.
Civic Activities
Richard is an active member at New Day Community Church. he participates in children's ministry and manages the grounds at the building.

Richard is married to wife Lori. Who is an RN with Borgess Hospital. He has a grown son Bill, who recently joined the Roy Miller Team. He has a 5-year-old son Alex, who is in Kindergarten.
Places I Have Lived
The places Richard has lived: Richard grew up in the suburbs of Motown. He went to college at Western Michigan University. After graduation, Richard lived in Pensacola, Florida and then in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Richard returned to the Kalamazoo area in the early 90's.
