Personal Statement

Mark grew up in Birmingham, Michigan but comes from a family whose ties to Northern Michigan span many generations. Mark's love of boating led Mark to Northern Michigan full time in the early 90's to manage the sales department for Irish Boat Shop in Charlevoix. After helping hundreds of families find the right boat, Mark was approached to work as the owner's representative for the construction of a 17,000 square foot home in Northern Michigan. Following the successful completion of the home, Mark's next adventure took him, his wife Valerie and their two young sons to Henderson Nevada where Mark was intimately involved with the construction of a 55,000 square foot private residence. Mark's responsibilities while working for each of the families also involved research, investigation and negotiation for the purchase of multiple residences for the families in multiple states and countries. In 2006, Mark and his wife Valerie, a Charlevoix attorney, decided to return to Northern Michigan to raise their two young sons. Mark and Val both enjoy the small town atmosphere and the benefits of watching their sons grow up skiing the local hills, sailing the lakes and enjoying all that Northern Michigan has to offer.
