John became a licensed Realtor in 1987 and received his broker license in 1994. He has the GRI designation and ABR and MSA Recognition. His sales for last year totaled over five million. Since his beginning in real estate, his personal production has continued to improve. Accredited Relocation Specialist by Relocation Resources, Inc.

Previous Careers

During the course of his life, John has had many different careers that have helped to make him a more diverse person. He proudly served the country as a member of the Army Reserves. For eight years, he worked in the lending department at First of America Bank. He owned and operated Pine Grove Lanes and Ninos Pizzaria in Gobles, Michigan, for thirteen years. Following that, he decided to enter the wonderful world of real estate.

Hobbies

John enjoys a variety of activities, including woodworking, "playing around" on computers, and sports, especially with his daughters.

Civic Activities

John is very active in his church and community. He is currently a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and attends there regularly. He has been the church treasurer, as well as participating in Youth Bridge Builders. Also, he was once the Vice-Mayor of the city of Gobles.

Family Info

Talk about a family man! John has been happily married to his wife, Laurie, for over 11 years, and they have four beautfiul children. He always wanted to have a son, but the Lord blessed him with four girls instead! His oldest girls, Erin, nineteen, and Lacey, eighteen, are both currently attending Western Michigan University. The two younger ones, Anne, age ten, is in fifth grade and Christine, eight, is in third grade. John is involved in several activities all the way from traveling to skiing. For the past few years, John has been in charge of the Loy Norrix High School concession stand, thereby involving himself in the school and the community.

Places I Have Lived

John is, and has always been, a "local" man. Born and rasied in Vicksburg, he is familiar with Kalamazoo and its surrounding areas. He has lived in Paw Paw and Gobles, so he knows what small town life is like. He is currently living in Kalamazoo, the very city he strives to serve.
